My far and away favorite on the red carpet tonight is Nicole Kidman in her cherry red Balenciaga halter gown. The bold color is perfect, the simple cut and form-fitted drape are perfect, and the drama of the exaggerated bow and red metallic trim are startlingly unexpected but still, perfect.
Put simply, she looks just as a Hollywood starlet should.
If I had to choose four others and it wasn't an option to simply say Nicole's name four more times, I'd have to give nods in the direction of Cate Blanchett in another liquid metal Armani Privé column gown, the stylish unit I wouldn't mind getting in between that is Daniel Craig and Satsuki Mitchell, J.Lo in a I-thought-I-hated-it-but-I-actually-kinda-love-it empire waisted jewel-tastic Marchesa gown, and finally, Gwyneth Paltrow in her gauzy apricot, please-check-out-the-back-before-you-judge-it Zac Posen confection.
Enjoy.

When I saw Nicole's gown, I *immediately* knew it would be your favorite.
You pick gowns you'd look stunning in, and this one, doll, on you, would be beyond spectacular.
Truly.
I thought Nicole's dress was gorgeous, until I realized it had a "shoulder bow". For a moment I was caught in a Charlize Theron flashback, but the more I saw Nicole's gown, there more I warmed up to her bow.
Nicole looked better than she ever has last night.
I liked Jessica Biel's dress, but what was up with that frizzy hairdo? Not cute.
Yeah, no Biel comments?
Thought the color was a bit too 1980s, though the deep slit down the back was nice.
If it'd been in red, ivory, brown or black, I would've liked it a lot more. Wasn't a fan of her hair, either. Makeup was fresh and young, though I might've eased up on the bubble gum pink blusher a bit.
All in all, a 6.5 out of 10, with 6 of those points going toward her lovely bah'um.
What did you think of Reese Witherspoon's dress?
I was impressed, it gave the illusion of curves on her boyish body.
