Waiting (im)patiently for photographs to emerge online, but for sure, my favorites, not so favorites and biggest question marks (so far) of the night, include:
Good
(1) Portia de Rossi in a nude, perfectly draped Lanvin confection (at an after-party)
(2) Rosamund Pike in a one-shouldered, butter-hued Roland Mouret column gown
(3) Keri Russell in a nude, very structured, strapless Nina Ricci dress (the ball-gown bottom overlooked because of those tremendous shoulders!)
Bad
(1) Sarah Larson in the pastel floral Valentino gown Shania Twain almost wore in the "You've got a way" video
(2) Cameron Diaz, ponytailed and tan-lined, in a very wrinkled strapless Dior gown
(3) Daniel Day Lewis' wife in...(gape mouthed)...uh...I'm not quite sure... (her dress later identified as Christian Lacroix Haute Couture)
Where the hell are they?
(1) Penelope Cruz (found! she arrived late in a black, feathery strapless Chanel number!)
(2) Nicole Kidman (found! she also arrived late in black but with straps and an ice storm around her neck)
Hair
(1) Best: Jennifer Garner (sideswept, asymmetric shy-eye bangs -- an unfussy up-'do)
(2) Worst: Katherine Heigl (think the 'body wave' all our Moms sported in the '80s)

The good, the bad, the where-the-hell-are-they?

Agree...where is Nicole? And just saw Penelope but they did not stop on her dress yet...brief glimpse.
Jennifer Garner looks beautiful with that hair. I like Ann Hathaway and Amy Adams (plain but pretty dress) as well.
OH and memo Katherine Heigl...get a new hairstylist...scary.
Keri was my favorite. Not much to choose from this year.
Katherine's dress looked good though don't you think?
don't love anyone's dress this year :(
Jennifer Hudson did NOT fit in that white dress. Please tell me that wasn't Andre's fault again!!!
Nicole's necklace probably cost more than my 2 br condo
Having trouble leaving a comment so sorry if this comes out 3x.
My favorite Glamazons of the night are missing:
Jennifer Lopez
Catherine Zeta Jones
Salma Hayek.
But Marion Cottaird is my favorite of the night. Just beautiful in all ways.
Heigl has definitely been rocking mom hair more often than not lately.
Loved her in "Wish Upon a Star" but ever since then, I can't defend her anymore!
The bust on Cotillard's dress weirded me out. Other than that it was nice. Not my favorite but nice.
I liked Heigl's despite the perm.
not much at all this year! I didn't care for Marian Cotillard's, but I can see how other's would. It fit her well and looked very haute couture. I prefer the simplicity of Ellen Page or Katherine Heigl.
Why is Nicole Kidman wearing a chandelier?
when I finally saw Penelope Cruz and those wierd stringy highlights, I tried to share with the DH and got only a "Huh?" for my troubles. How I wished I was with you, Lovely J., and the apropriately dressed Monte! Properly accessorized with a couple of divoon martinis and a home-baked dog treat, bien sur.
Nicole Kidman is beautiful but when she came out to present the award to Robert Boyle ... both my boyfriend and I gasped as the bottom tier got caught around her right boob. It just kinda latched on under there outlining it and I'm just willing it to fall back into place in the center of her chest.
But you just know that the wrap-up style shows and mags will say Heigl was evocative of "old Hollywood glamour." Seriously, that phrase has been so bludgeoned to death since 1995 that I just want to vom.
I'm shocked no one has mentioned Tilda Swinton's horrific dress. I LOVE Tilda, but that dress was atrocious.
And I have to say it: I liked Katherine Heigl's hair. I grew up in the 80s and that was the last thing I thought of.

rdhd - i completely agree! it's the only reason i perused the comments here to see if anyone said anything!!
Kathryn's hair looks exactly like my Mom's hair at her '81 wedding. Not saying she doesn't still look pretty but that do is *the* '80s look. Think about it, Adam Sandler's girlfriend in The Wedding Singer, Molly Ringwald in Breakfast Club...there's no argument here.
oh little one, you must be really sick! I expected to come here and have reading material to take me until quittin' time!
get better soon, and stop writing- SLEEP!
don't forget Winona in "Heathers"
didn't Cameron look awful? not just her dress and her hair but overall? maybe I haven't seen her in a while, but it looks like all that time in the sun has really damaged her looks.
where is Jennifer Hudson on here? She had one giant Jordan Almond shaped boob. And she clearly didn't abide by your "earn it first" rule up top. I felt worse for her this year than last year.
PCruz was my favorite. Everything about her look was divine.
Katherine was on something last night. Did you see her interview with Ryan Seacrest?? She was laughing like a hyena about nothing. And then on stage she was shaking like a leaf even telling the crowd how nervous she was. Isn't she like 30 years old?
I have your back on the Sarah Larson disaster. Sometimes I see people's dresses and think, "How could ________ have designed that??" That's exactly how I felt about Sarah in her Valentino.
Katherine was definitely acting strange last night. I saw the replay of her interview with Ryan and she was way too hyper. Very out of character. Her hair looks silly to me, but the guys seem to like it (my bf included).
Not to be a traitor to you Jo, or any of us ladies who carefully watch our figures, but I was a bit alarmed by Keri's shoulders- they seemed a bit too *ana* to be beautiful. Seomtimes I think collarbones sticking out like pencils is scary. Am I being crazy?
Very disappointed by everynoe, except PCruz and HkKum. Honestly.
I think most of the women Jo goes gaga over would be considered "ana". I'm relieved to find out this bothers more people than just me!
