Eye candy of the week

She may drink her own breast milk and be the kind to leave a Post-It in her friend's apartment reminding her to recycle, but with her asymmetrically shaved pixie and super lean runway frame, 24 year old Claire from NYC was the easy choice to be my prized pony for this, the tenth (!) installment of "America's Next Top Model."

Here, a video introduction:

It's so true what they say about typecasting. Luke Perry and Jennie Garth have grown up, gotten married, raised children, ridden bulls and danced the cha-cha-cha, but try as I may, these two together, even at some random event called "Chevy Rocks!", will always make me think first and foremost of Kelly's face after Brenda skewered her (in front of Dylan!) with the classic, "I was always taught that if it looks like a duck and walks like a duck…"

HRL, take note, Rihanna at last night's Brit Awards is your eye makeup blueprint for my "Jumpsuit Mandatory" birthday celebration. Tick tock, woman, get to practicing!

After enduring four straight days of not being able to avoid Lindsay Lohan's painfully unsexy attempt at recreating Marilyn's "Last Sitting" (not to mention her mother's insufferable interviews pertaining thereto), I've come up with an idea.

How about we take this young curvy thing here...
And make some Jayne Mansfield magic?
My favorite photo of Scott's this week captured all that I love about a well-dressed man: fitted, formal, polished and neat. The yellow accent of eccentricity, the silvery tousle and the Gucci boutique backdrop certainly don't hurt, either...

After I figure out the genesis behind Tommaso Aquilano and Roberto Rimondi's decision to anoint themselves "6267," I'm going to place at the tippy top of my wishlist their breathtaking take on the perfect formal showpiece coat.Or at least let it share top billing with this front-draped, skinny-cinched Bottega Veneta sheath...
...and this tiered one-sleeve Marni blouse peeking out from under this structured coat, which, if there's room, I might slide somewhere else in my top 10.
I know presidential politics are and should be rooted in substance, but let's suspend reason for a second and imagine how cool it would be if our First Family looked like this instead of this?

My ticket on the Megan Fox Express has long since expired -she's just too one-dimensional is what it comes down to- but holy wow, that's one hard to miss rib tatt she's got there. I don't really care what it says (if you do, click here), I'm just in awe of a woman with that little protective fat who chose the most painful part of the body on which to have a needle create not just a small fairy or the Chinese character for "serenity" but something of the that-must've-taken-a-good-45-minutes variety. Color me impressed, MegFo.

That's the first picture of Jayne Mansfield I've seen where I can totally see the resemblance to her daughter.

Sart's photo is by far the best one of the lot.

this ANTM is going to be good. I like Claire too but I think I'm rooting for that bratty 18 year old from Wisconsin.

So happy that somebody else shares the Claire love, although I wonder if they'll decide she's *too old*? Also adore the weird punk girl.

Megan Fox is hot as hell but definitely getting boring.

Plus, I think her tattoos say really stupid things. Perhaps they have a lot of meaning to her. Perhaps. But something makes me think... probably not.

i'm not sure why J didn't like the lindsay shoot, but i know why I didn't- the girl has no sweetness or playfulness to her at all. she's a hardened looking softbodied hasbeen who takes herself too seriously.

and there's something weird about her smile as well..

A part of me still wants LL to pull it together but the Marilyn photoshoot was terrible. Yet, I don't get why you like Kim K. It might have been awhile ago but Lindsay did flash some winsome talent in the Parent Trap and Mean Girls. Kim K. is famous for being friends with the repulsive Paris and being peed on by Ray J. She's a far cry from a Volvo.

Btw, the Bottega dress is oh so chic.

Kim is a guilty pleasure of mine. I never claimed to like her for her talent, I just think she's beautiful and has a freakishly attractive figure. Plus, she seems like a sweet girl. Her style is about as far from Volvo as it gets, yes, but there's just something about her I can't stop adoring.

Lindsay doesn't have the innocence, wonder, vulnerability, or embracing quality that Marilyn had. There's just no other Marilyn.

That said, how is "softbodied" a bad thing? I thought Lindsay's body looked quite lovely and embracable, which is what Marilyn/that shoot was all about, though her face lacked the magic needed to pull it all off.

I agree with 1:33. The one particularly toothy one of LiLo, with the roses, particularly shows the difference between them. I understand what the mag was trying to achieve, but I think the problem is that too many people remember Marilyn as they think she was, and not how she really was - which was actually quite charming and bright, and a talented comedic actress. LiLo just doesn't have that personality.

Lindsey's Marilyn photos were of the same quality of Kim's Playboy shoot... both were somewhat desperate attempts for attention. Nonetheless, I agree that Kim's pictures were much sexier!!

Just clicked over to the three collections you link to and they are all so gorgeous. I love that you have such a defined sense of style. It's rare for a woman to know exactly what she likes, but you definitely do. Lots and lots of dramatic ruffles that for sure ;)

I don't know...Marni definitely always smacks of the previous year's Prada...I've always thought of Marni as Prada Lite.

Love Rihanna's makeup! She is looking so great lately - good for her. She's come a long way since Pon De Replay:)

ew, tattoos on a woman are so trashy. I bet if Megan wasn't so inked up she'd seem a whole lot more appealing.

I'm glad someone else shares my sentiment for LL's Marilyn re-creation. The two are incomparable, so why embarrass poor Lindsay by giving her some of the most glamorous shoes in history to fill?

LOVE the BV dress; it looks like water.

I don't get the appeal of Megan Fox; she's not quite up to par with Angelina, if the pretty-bad-girl-with-tats butters your parsnips. Though any girl who gets said tat somewhere except the ubiquitous lower back gets at least partial credit in my book.

If I were to get ink, I'd get a little fleur-de-lis on the back of my shoulder, but I recognize the power of gravity (and my Grandma), and will therefore pass.

Kelly and Dylan have aged really well!

I don't have any myself, but I think girls with tats are hot, especially ones like Megan's with script.

keep up the great blog Jo!
