Taking an 'us' day tomorrow...

I do apologize, but we're both far too depressed to write tomorrow's post now that the Hollywood Foreign Press Association has formally announced there will in fact not be a televised Golden Globe Awards this year.

What do these people expect Mum to do, retool her workout schedule again now that she won't be making and consuming her favorite red carpet snacks all day on Sunday?

(silence)

It's just not fair.

48 days and counting,
Montesquieu

p.s. these new pictures of Katie Holmes looking classically beautiful in a one-shouldered draped ivory Lanvin gown at tonight's Critics' Choice Awards only makes me sadder...just imagine the stunner she'd have worn this Sunday!

I'm trying to figure out in my head which of the two between Monte and Katie you'd prefer to spend an evening with...

Except for the bags under her eyes and the deer in headlights expression that subtly screams "Please!!! Save me!!" Katie really looks hot and attractive lately.

I've agreed with your love for Katie every time, but she looks awful in this picture. I don't know if it's the bags under her eyes, but this isn't Katie at her best.

Cody suggests you go on a long walk with plenty of sniffing instead. He tells me that always cheers him up.

Lovely dress but she is over bronzed

not sure if you noticed, but her shoulders are looking very bony and JenConn-like lately. the new must have accessory it seems.

no GGA makes me a sad, sad girl :-(

No Golden Globes??? That was always the fun show to watch. That so sucks.

Her bronzer looks way too brown.

Try being the friends of ours who have tickets to the Oscars. They are peeved at the potential cancelation.

I think Katie looks great - lovely shoulders and arms, the new bob looks way nicer a little more relaxed. But the dress? I hate to disagree, but I think it looks like a plush hotel towel draped over and around her. And I'm going to guess that is one ExpensivE hotel towel!

I actually like everything on her BUT her hair here. It looks so undone, like she tousled and left the house. Fine for a kid's soccer game but not when you're wearing Lanvin on the red carpet!

I agree it looks like a towel instead of a dress. That said I think it would be a lot more fitting as a maternity dress.

I have to agree with anon 10:30. But I confused the dress with a sparkly duvet cover.

I agree with dc stylist! She would look absolutely stunning had she went for a more polished look with her hair!!! It just looks disheveled and is distracting from the beautiful Lanvin! I can't believe it about the Oscars!!! SO DEPRESSING!

She looks 10 years older than she really is. Awful.

Her body has rebounded so nicely from pregnancy. She looks amazing and I love the elegant Lanvin. Love it.

up close the detailing on the dress is exquisite. it drapes so flatteringly to Ms. Holmes' figure...where are you people getting "bath towel" from?

Anonymous said...

Oh, I don't know....from that fact that's boring and really NOT that flattering?

Excuse my typos.

Lovely across the board. She is fast becoming one of my favorites as well. She's 29 and a mother, not a 21 year old clubbing socialite. I think she looks very age appropriate here.

I gotta agree with DListed, she totally looks like Sally Field in that picture

are we supposed to believe Jo actually eats grilled cheese AND cadbury creme eggs??

come on now-

this is why I'm so disappointed -- Oscar/Golden Globes/VMA nights are my opportunities to eat like a Superbowl fan! I make an exception, plan my workouts accordingly and give in like nothing else matters!

But I will have you know I did polish off my last Cadbury "ornament" egg last night after dinner. My dear Mother sprinkled my room with 16 of them while I was home for Christmas. I think I moaned out loud twice.

best,
J

p.s. I have to admit, I laughed out loud at the Sally Field comparison

Her dress has a Egyptian inspired look and the detailing is amazing. I still haven't decided if I enjoy the fit of the dress yet. I'm leaning toward a bit taken in at the waste. Overall I like the dress.

BUT my dear Katie looks a bit under the weather and tired in these photos. Tom what are you doing to this young woman!?

maybe your "dear Mother" was trying to make the point that you look like a corpse from the waist up. Just a thought.

Katie is an automaton without an original thought. I have a feeling that if she jumped off a bridge tomorrow, you wouldn't be too far behind her.
