'Cause I got a lunch date...

Last night, as I wrote the previous post, I took in for only the second time in its entirety the disturbing yet highly entertaining and surprisingly well-soundtracked Christian Bale film, American Pyscho.

Now, don't get me wrong, I love myself the arrogant K Street type who'd sooner starve than wear an off-the-rack suit, but after watching this scene (several times, courtesy of Tivo), I'm now wondering if, for my own good, I should take my heel strut a few blocks north of lawyer-lobbyist row...

While I'm away this 'noon getting my "Don't forget to call" pity-pout on, please enjoy the all-male exchange that supplanted the business card quick-draw as my favorite from American Psycho (note: watch out for a bit of spirited, NSFW language):

I'm a woman who works on glorious K St and am pretty sure I've heard this exact conversation take place in our hallways, though peppered with names of actual female employees.

I never realized that was Josh Lucas! What a charming scene that is, Jo ;-)

I actually like the book a lot better than the movie... the movie is only excerpts from the book.

I think the movie is confusing but it all makes a lot more sense in the book.

I JUST saw this movie a few weeks ago and was totally creeped out. Time for some yoga to regain some balance and perspective...

I work on K St. as well (in fact I'm still at work at this god forsaken hour) and I concur with Erin. It's mysogyny hell.

But I kinda love it.
