You must go to some really classy strip joints.
I think it's the "extra" platform bit that makes some people think of stripper shoes. I know the first time I ever saw an extra "lift" like that was on a lucite pair of ridiculousness worn by a "model" on "Real World: New Orleans." I'm not saying I think these look stripper-ish, I'm just saying I can see where the other point of view is coming from.
