When a girl can't "peep" at work

Unlike you, I'm not allowed to wear open-toed shoes of any kind at work. I have the basic black/brown pump in round-toe and pointy-toe, but I'd like your suggestions on how to follow the land of the law without looking too much like every other woman I see on K Street. I'm not opposed to more black/brown, but something other than plain matte leather would be nice. Because I'd prefer to buy a few pairs, can I ask you to restrain your suggestions to $100-and-under? I like 'em high (3 inches and up), too! Thanks!

Not even the subtlest of subtle peep toes? You poor thing!

But don't fret, there are plenty of cute, reasonably-priced closed-toe high heels from which to choose, and I've arranged the best of the best for you below. Since I highly doubt you'll get called out for wearing an "inappropriate color," I recommend making up for your lack of freedom in the open-toe arena by opting for a nautical stripe with bow-adornment, a bright punch of multi-textured emerald green, some eelskin embossing, or my personal favorite, a four-inch spiked heel.

Just a quick reminder -- if your office is as conservative as a "no open-toed shoe" rule implies, be sure to rock the showpiece pump only when the rest of your wardrobe components are well within the work-appropriate boundaries.

Happy shoe shopping!

I have the Max Studio pumps in black patent leather and always get compliments on them! And for a 3.75-inch heel, they're incredibly comfortable.

Love this post, as I can't "peep" at the office either.
