McQueen lip gloss is fine and good, but...

...this asymmetrically-draped Grecian style column gown from the brilliant Brit's too tiny section at Saks -a beauty I only intended to photograph but after saleswoman Maria's sweet wink and West Berlin tinted "Darling, just a taste, yes?", I swallowed hard, calculated in my head how many hours of language tutoring it would take to pay off a $5,295 pricetag and followed her into a dressing room "bigger than the Blue Banana"- just might have given me my most favorite fashion moment of my young life.

It's not just that I'm standing next to a blue-sequined shirt dress...this gown really is that stunning.
I think I actually liked the back better than the front...Draping as structured and layered as this is something you really can't find in lower-end pieces

Gorgeous!

But who was taking the pictures? Your sugar daddy?

if I hadn't just seen Pretty Woman on TBS yesterday, I never would've gotten the Blue Banana allusion.

that gown is insanely beautiful on you. cool that they let you try it on and model it in the store!

that's incredible that they let someone take a picture of you right in the main room, usually they're hyper strict on that. they must've really loved you in that Mcqueen! i'm not normally a fan of his, but that gown is so stunning. very Katie ;)

*love*

it's been too long since we've gotten to go in the dressing room with you!

ps: I agree that the back is the best view

For $6,000 Saks must have something a bit more figure flattering

I wasn't going to admit this, but...when those pictures were taken, I had a whole layer of draping stuck up in the bodice. Once Maria pulled it out, the "column" fell in a much more flattering (read: thinner) silhouette.

In person, believe me, $6K never looked so good.

love the Pretty Woman reference, love the back, but from the front there's something that seems off. but maybe it's that draping that was stuck. anyway, looks like Saks loves you as much as you love them.

I know this dress brought out the Editorial in you but please remember to keep your shoulders down in pictures. You're blessed with a swan's neck but it's totally non-existant here (except the final pic).

Gorgeous gown.
