T-strap yourself in!

The t-strap.

There are few styles on the footwear scene that conjure up as many contrasting feelings as this one.

It's undeniably retro, without question smacks of schoolmarm chic, and regardless of how tall, how animal skin embossed, how brightly colored or how metallic navy blue your pedi polish looks through its two tiny "peeps," the modern t-strap - peep-toed or otherwise - will always be much more 'lady who lunches' or 'Broadway babe who belts it out' than 'siren who struts.'

It is also one of the few dress shoes that, to me, is more aesthetically pleasing in a stacked high heel (or a wafer-thin flat) than a tall, skinny stiletto.

All of this would explain why I only own one pair.

Per one reader's very vehement request(s), here is a selection of peep, round and almond toed t-straps with rare representation from not just the super high, but the mid and flat heel heights as well.

Enjoy!

So many lovely metallics - exactly what I've been looking for for Fall! I'm thinking those FCUK ones or, if I'm willing to dip into my savings, the Theory pair.

awesome post! Thanks!

I love the T-Strap Heels, although I am holding out for a pair of Miu Miu Double Strap Mary Janes for my birthday next month. They are to die for!

i dont generally like a t-strap..but i was tempted by a few of the ones this past summer with "larger" straps..like the pvc/ patent leather platforms ones on the chanel runway.... but then ..i like my shoes extreme..

Thank you Johanna! I recognize myself as the vehement reader...I love the flats you found, and being 5'8" I agree that I don't see a t-strap looking good on a stilleto.
