The perfect perk-me-up skirts for Spring

Even though Mother Nature can't seem to make up her mind this week, we all know consistent 70+ degree temperatures are only a few skipped meals and 60 minute workouts away.

If you're like I am and the vast majority of your skirts are black, black and white, gray, and black and gray, you too, are in desperate need of a perk-me-up skirt for the Spring season.

What defines a perk-me-up skirt is lightness of color and fabric and in some cases, brightness of pattern as well. The silhouettes are a bit more A-line than their cooler months' counterparts, confounding given the slimmer figure necessary for the next 16 weekends' worth of shorts, sleeveless tops and of course, bikinis. Not to diminish the importance of introducing more breathable materials and poppier patterns into your seasonal rotation, but by far the most defining role for this wardrobe component is its infallible ability to elevate your mood.

An effective perk-me-up skirt can take you from sad to jubilant, depressed to frolicsome, sexless to well, still sexless, but at least it'll make your abandoned lady bits feel a little less so.

So on those mornings when you wake up feeling like Kelly Osbourne looks - and you don't have a client meeting - strap on some cute Mary Jane peeptoes (don't even think about wearing hose), pack a healthy 10:30am snack in your daybag, and slip into any one of these fetching Spring lovelies:

I have the Rachel Pally one in navy and wear it EVERYWHERE. I love it! Now that I see it comes in red, I'm tempted to double-dip...
