Casual does not mean accessory-free.

Today was perfect.

The mixed berry scone I had for breakfast was perfect, the company with whom I ate said scone was perfect, and that I had the chance to strut around Dupont in my dressy short shorts in January -- perfect.

A 72-degree Saturday, whether in May or in January, is a day for walking to and from Georgetown and for nibbling a veggie wrap al fresco while reading a hardcover fiction book. A day like today, a casual Saturday, deserves casual attire. No high-waisted skirts, no peeptoes, not even premium denim or pearl earrings.

One accessory women always need, however, is a watch.

A good watch is one that's both dressy enough for the office and one that will complement - but not overpower - a casual Saturday outfit.
